Healing Trauma is a 5-week group for adult survivors of sexual and/or domestic violence focused on understanding how widespread violence is in women’s lives and the impact it can have on healing and self-worth.
Participants will be able to:
Explore personal strengths
Build healthy coping skills
Increase tools for healing, empowerment and growth
The group will be held in person on Mondays, July 6 – August 3, 2026 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm.

The Laurel Center warehouse is full of dishware, furniture, household items and more that needs to be cleared out so we can make room for essential items for our emergency shelter. Come out on September 12, 2026 from 8 am – 2 pm at 22 Clark Street in Winchester (corner of Clark & Cameron) and shop for bargains! Every dollar raised goes to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Follow the signs to the back of the building.

Join us Saturday, October 3, 2026 for the Annual Walk and Wag to End Domestic Violence! This event will take place at the beautiful 2-mile walking path around Chet Hobert Park in Berryville, VA. This is a pet-friendly event, so bring your four-legged friend along! Even if you don’t have a pet, come out to enjoy the nice fall weather and support survivors of domestic and sexual violence in our community.
Tickets are available HERE.
Tickets are $25 for an individual walker, $125 for a Team (up to 6 walkers), and children under 5 walk for free. There will be donuts, coffee, door prizes, & a pet costume contest!
All proceeds benefit the individuals and families who use The Laurel Center services. The Laurel Center is a dual program offering services to victims of both domestic and sexual violence in Winchester City and Clarke, Frederick, and Warren counties. The Laurel Center empowers those affected by domestic and sexual violence by providing emergency shelter, advocacy, outreach, support services, education, and awareness.

Come out to the Clarke County Farmer’s Market on October 17, 2026 for the Geneva Jackson Cake Contest! This event honors legendary cook and certified food judge Geneva Jackson and all proceeds benefit The Laurel Center!
Bakers of all ages can present their best cakes to win a cash prize. Registration is held at the market starting at 8 am. Cakes must be entered by 10 am, judging begins at 10:30 am, and winners are announced at 11 am. The entry fee is $10 per cake and cash prizes will be awarded.
Two categories: frosted and unfrosted. Please submit all cakes in disposable pans and plates. Entries must include the baker’s name, phone number, and list of ingredients.
