Hope and Resiliency, Survivors' Stories Through Art

Saturday, April 27th, 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Reception Hall

The Laurel Center is pleased to present, “Hope and Resiliency, Survivors’ Stories Through Art” an exhibit to highlight Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This FREE art show allows survivors of sexual violence to share their stories and raise awareness towards the issue. The Laurel Center encourages our clients who are survivors of sexual and domestic violence to engage in the creative process to promote emotional expression, cope with traumatic stress, and use creative art as a tool for grounding, reflection, and growth. Art safely gives voice to survivor’s emotions, thoughts and memories. Their art work becomes visible when words are insufficient.
