Effects of Domestic Violence on Children Class

The Effects of Domestic Violence on Children class is held the last Monday in the month, except May and December. (Weather permitting)

The location is subject to change, so please call us 540-667-6466 to confirm time and location.

Currently located at the Winchester Medical Center North Tower, Classroom A.  Parking garage 2 is free and directly across from the entrance.

Class begins promptly at 6:30pm and no admittance past that time. No children are allowed, nor is childcare provided. 

The class is free and education based.

Young Women's Lives

This FREE support group creates a safe space for young women (ages 13-19) to come together and support one another's successes and connect to each other's struggles. The group celebrates strength, experience, creativity, and intelligence and sessions help to establish personal strength, self-confidence, and connection. Sexual assault survivors can learn about common reactions to trauma while practicing skills for coping with upsetting thoughts and feelings.

Dating Violence & Youth Advocacy Council (YAC) & Safe Dates

TLC Prevention staff is offering Safe Dates curriculum to Middle and High School students in the City of Winchester and the Counties of Frederick, Clarke, and Warren.  Safe Dates helps teens more clearly define what a healthy relationship is and what dating abuse is.  It helps teens understand causes of dating abuse and ways to prevent dating abuse from happening. 

As a part of our brand NEW program, we are also looking for Middle and High School students to be part of a Dating Violence Youth Advocacy Council (YAC).   Members will have the opportunity to plan FUN awareness events, learn about healthy relationships, develop leadership skills, and even report to the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
